Cameroon’s Lekié face a giant-sized task in Egypt

Lekié Football Filles know exactly what they are up against. Cameroon’s champions were drawn in Group A of the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League alongside hosts FC Masar, two-time winners Mamelodi Sundowns and Morocco’s FUS Rabat, at the ceremony in Cairo on 20 October.

Lekié earned their place as winners of the Central African UNIFFAC zone. They were placed in the second seeding pot for the draw, with FUS Rabat, Uganda’s Kawempe Muslim Ladies and the WAFU Zone B qualifier.

No room for a slow start

The tournament runs from 1 to 15 November in Egypt and moves fast. The top two in each group of four reach the semi-finals on 11 November, and the final follows four days later.

The group opens with Masar against Sundowns on 1 November, a repeat of a 2024 meeting that Masar won 1-0. That puts pressure on both, and could give Lekié an opening if they pick up points early.

For Cameroonian women’s football, simply being among the continent’s final eight is a statement. Getting out of this group would be a much bigger one.
